4 Craft Breweries You Must Try in Nelson BC

Once upon a time there was a beautiful community on the shores of the pristine waters of Kootenay Lake, British Columbia. This small city is famous for the laidback lifestyle/hippy culture that is Nelson BC itself. My sisters, and I visit this little slice of heaven frequently. What generally starts out as an afternoon visiting the red fish (aka kokanee) near Kokanee Creek Provincial Park or doing some window shopping on Baker Street, almost always ends up in us hitting all of the 4 breweries they have in Nelson BC. It generally begins at Torchlight Brewing Co and ends at Backroads Brewing Company with a little Savoy Brewing or NBC in between. Its funny because each sister tends to prefer a different brewery over the other, but they're all wonderful in different ways. Here is the list of the breweries and the reasons why each sister loves them.

1. Torchlight Brewing Co- This brewery is amazing in the selection of different craft beers. There is usually 10 or more beers! This brewery literally has the largest selection of craft beers in Nelson. Their industrial setting is pretty neat, and they have a little something for everyone. If your not into alcohol or are the DD that's cool too. They have you covered with kombucha or in house made soda! What is not to like about that! 2.Nelson Brewing Company- This little gem up the hill has been around since the 19th century! You could call them the historians of craft beer as they are still located in their original building. at over 100 years old this place is a little piece of craft beer history. 3.Backroads Brewing Company- Location, Location, Location!! This bad boy is located right in the heart of Nelson on Baker Street. It is perfect for people watching, and they have a great little patio that is dog friendly! This brewery typically has 8 craft beers on tap, has a great drinking game the locals play, and the occasional live music night. 4.Savoy Brewery- Located in the beautiful Falls Music Lounge. This place has chill vibes only written all over it. From the beautiful mural outside, to live music, this brewery has good beer, good food, and good times.
